Vivek Arte

Cryptographer

I am a cryptography engineer at QEDIT, where I am helping build shielded assets for the Zcash digital currency.

I am broadly interested in cryptography and computer security, with special interests in proof systems, zero knowledge and private set intersection. I have previously worked on zero-knowledge, incremental cryptography, and private set intersection (including at Galois, where I interned with Alex Malozemoff in summer 2020).

In 2021, I completed a Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of California San Diego, where I was advised by Mihir Bellare.

In summer 2021, I completed the Graduate Certificate in Public Policy (Technology and Policy) from the Takshashila Institution. I write semi-regularly about topics in and around technology policy – more details can be found here.

Before this, I completed Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology degrees in Electrical Engineering under the Dual Degree Programme at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, during which I also completed a minor in Computer Science and Engineering.
